Saona is named for the river where the founder's grandfather would bring their mule-drawn cart full of wool fleeces. There, they spent the days washing the wool and allowing it to dry on the banks of the river in preparation for carding, spinning, and weaving to make blankets in the family mill.

      I can’t work with straight cotton because it hurts my hands, but this is entirely workable! I’ve been crocheting a shawl with it and it’s so soft - and it will be perfect for spring, year round, really. I plan to knit a summer top with it, too.

      Perfect in warm weather climates.

      Just bought 2 balls to swatch for some summer tees I usually knit with linen yarns. This fingering yarn is perfectly light, like cotton with a touch of merino for softness, so it doesn’t hurt my hands the way harsh cotton yarns do, My fave color so far is the #1985 blue, a very subtle light grey/ faded denim look I am using as stripes for a Breton-inspired beach tee to wear here in the southern Carolinas. My summer knit yarn this year!
