The Soay sheep are next to Boreray's in terms of rarity and classed as such by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Blacker sourced this lovely wool from the Ironbridge Gorge Trust, where a flock of Soays are used for conservation grazing. The wool is short and of very mixed thicknesses which makes for a yarn full of character, able to be used for a wide range of projects from outer wear and accessories to next-to-skin for those who like the feel of a real natural wool!
